Course Materials Affordability Summit: Save the Date
As I have settled into the VCCS, I am often asked one important question: What is happening with the Zx23 Project and OER across the system? While I am visiting each college to gather data connected to this question, it is apparent to me we need to gather together as a system to discuss our current situation and work collaboratively to envision our future.
With this aim in mind, I invite you to join me for a Course Materials Affordability Summit.
Date: Friday, December 2, 2016
Time: 1:30-5:30 pm
Where: System Office in Richmond, VA and New River Community College in Dublin, VA. To better serve all our campuses, the summit will have two meeting locations which will be joined by teleconference. Each location will have a facilitator and snacks. You must be at a location to participate.
Who should attend: Faculty, department chairs, Zx23 participants and leads, Deans, college decision makers, bookstore staff, students and others who are engaged with the topic of college affordability, student debt and open education.
Cost: Free with registration. You must register to attend.
Please note this is not a professional development opportunity. While we might have an opening speaker, this will be a hands on, discussion-based event focused on problem solving and strategic planning.
I also ask that you help make sure your college is represented at this event and that you share this opportunity with relevant faculty, staff and students at your institutions.
Event specifics and a program will be sent out before the event via email.

I look forward to seeing you on December 2nd. If you cannot attend, but are interested or if you have questions or concerns, please contact me via email.
