Day 1: Open Education Conference 2012

I am in Vancouver, British Columbia this week for the Open Education Conference.

This is the 9th year of the conference and, if attendance is any indicator, this year may be a tipping point for not only the conference but the issue of open education in general. Like me, many attendees are here for the first time, clearly reflecting a growing amount of interest–some might say hype–in the topic of open educational resources.

Many of the sessions are being livestreamed, including the passionate and I would say riveting opening keynote by Gardner Campbell. You can access these streams in the right-hand column of the OpenEd Conference website (http://openedconference.org). Follow along on Twitter using the hashtag #opened12.
