LMS Best Practices – Part I
As the Virginia Community College System transitions to a new learning management system, we have the opportunity to reimagine learning and teaching. We pride ourselves on student success, but how are we proving that our students are truly successful?
The eLearning and Educational Technology (eLET) committee has developed a recommendation that will introduce best practices related to teaching and learning, provide us with data that can be correlated with student success initiatives and ultimately provide insight on teaching strategies that yield student success.
This recommendation has been endorsed by the Academic and Student Affairs Council (ASAC) as of May 2019.

In addition to the LMS best practices, a workgroup on the VCCS eLET committee also created a common “best practices” list for recording, editing, and publishing captured video using Canvas Studio (formerly called Arc).
