Why Does My UDOIT Score Change?
In UDOIT Advantage, your score is a snapshot in time, not a final grade.
It’s normal for your score to change—even if you didn’t edit anything.
Your score may change because:
- New content was added or published
- Previously unused content became active
- A scan included more items than before
- Fixing one issue uncovered another related issue
This is expected behavior. UDOIT is designed to identify accessibility issues, not to certify that a course is fully accessible.
What the Score Actually Means
- UDOIT scans published and actively used content by default
- Scores are based on the number and severity of issues found
- Fixing issues can temporarily lower a score as deeper issues are revealed
- Scores are diagnostic, not pass/fail
What to Do Instead
- Review the issue list, not just the score
- Fix what you can
- Re-scan
- Focus on progress over time, not the number itself
Accessibility work is iterative. A changing score usually means you’re moving in the right direction.

This information helps author/adapters make a case for the value of their work and helps us to assess OEI program impact beyond our immediate context. So, please encourage reviewers/adopters to complete the interest/adoption link.
