Claude  –  Claude.AI (responding to the prompt: What is Claude?)

I am an artificial intelligence called Claude, created by a company called Anthropic. I am a large language model, which means I have been trained on a vast amount of text data to be able to understand and communicate in natural language.

However, it’s important to understand that I am not a sentient being – I am a very advanced machine learning model that can process and generate human-like language, but I do not have true feelings, consciousness or free will like humans do.

My training data was cut off in August 2023, so while I have a broad knowledge base spanning many topics, my knowledge is not fully up-to-date with the present day. I cannot learn or update my own knowledge – I can only operate based on the training I received from Anthropic.

When communicating with me, it’s best to have an open exchange and feel free to ask me questions on any topic within my capabilities. I can engage in analysis, writing tasks, coding, math, and more. But I cannot take actions outside of this conversational interface, such as opening websites or files.

I’m an AI assistant created to be helpful, honest and harmless. I have built-in safeguards from Anthropic to ensure I act ethically and do not engage in anything untoward. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
